Water Incident Report - February 27th, 2021

At 10:15pm on February 27th Fireboat Liberty, Fireboat Tiburon, M1, 1583, T4, R9, B3, and H32 were dispatched to a reported person in the water in the area of Spinnaker Restaurant in Richardson Bay.

The U.S. Coast Guard was notified and launched one of their resources to assist.

Fireboat Liberty quickly responded and initiated a search in the area locating one person in the water after an approximately 10 minute search. The individual was cold but no other injuries were reported and all units with the exception of Fireboat Liberty and Fireboat Tiburon remained on scene. The quick actions of the crew on Fireboat Liberty saved the individual from what would have been an unfortunate outcome as the individual was not wearing a personal floatation device.

Southern Marin Fire District would like to stress the importance of wearing a personal floatation device while out on the water.
