Attention Southern Marin CERT and NRG Volunteers!
To thank you and recognize all the contributions our volunteers make each and every day, we have secured a spot in the 2024 Mill Valley Memorial Day Parade for volunteers to march and have some fun. This is a huge, annual event preceded by the pancake breakfast in downtown Mill Valley. You do not have to be a Mill Valley resident to participate. We want to see as many of you as possible!
Date/time: May 27th, 2024. Parade starts at 10:30am (see below for staging time).
Parade theme: This year’s theme is “Strength in Numbers.”
Attire: Please wear your CERT or NRG vest. Feel free to wear eye-catching, appropriate accessories to make it fun for everyone!
Parade route: 1.6 Miles, Old Mill Park to Mt. Tamalpais High School
Parade rules from the organizers (more details to follow from SMFD closer to the event):
- The parade stages between 8:30 AM and 10 AM. Parade starts at 10:30am.
- Marshals along the route will direct your entry to stop and start to keep the flow constant.
- Stay no more than 20 feet behind the entry in front of you in the parade.
-
Candy: (SMFD will provide candy to distribute.) No throwing candy (or anything else) allowed. You may use walking members of your group to hand out candy. To avoid slip and fall injury to our equestrian and walking entries – please pick up any dropped candy.
