In 2019, Southern Marin Fire Protection District’s Vegetation Management Program was established with the passing of Measure U. The Southern Marin Fire Protection District has worked to identify hazards relating to wildfire for the City of Sausalito and the communities of Tam. Valley, Homestead Valley, Strawberry, Almonte, and Tiburon. A budget of $1,000,000 was established for the overall progress. With the creation of Southern Marin Fire's Vegetation Management Program, numerous projects and programs were created to help and protect the citizens within the District.
