Marin County has updated the Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan for 2024
On September 25th, 2024, the Southern Marin Fire Protection District (SMFD) board successfully signed a resolution supporting the adoption of the first Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan (MJHMP) for the District. This plan, which is updated every five years, assesses natural hazard risks and identifies and prioritizes projects to reduce those risks. Completion of this plan qualifies SMFD for FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Program funding.
At this time, the overall County plan as well as SMFD’s profile (an appendix to the plan) have been approved by FEMA and CalOES. Review this link to see the 2024 SMFD Hazard Profile document.
